Florence Griffith-Joyner was the fastest lady on the track and field. She was famous with her nickname Flo-Jo. This great athlete was born in Los Angeles, California on December 21, 1959. She began her career on 7 years old. Stepping on her 14, she showed her ability by defeating all the sprinters on the Jesse Owens National Youth Games. Florence got her education on the long jump and sprint in Jordan High School in Los Angeles. She graduated in 1978 from High school then continued her study on the California State University. The sweetest moment for Florence's life was her marriage with Al Joyner. He was a triple jumper athlete. He got a medal on 1984. Later he became Flo-Jo supervisor and workout partner. They became a good partner by preparing their hard work together for Olympics in Seoul, South Korea on 1988.

There Florence showed the world that she had a really unbeatable fast speed by capturing three gold medals. She can defeat the games in 100, 200, and 4x100 meters relay. Moreover she could still hold world records in the 100 and 200 meter. At the quarterfinal she could set the record 100 mark of 10.49 on that Olympic, no women can defeat her 10.60 record. Then the other amazing record was she set 21.34 for 200 meter. As a note, it is only Marion Jones, the other American female athlete who can approach her time 21.70. Unfortunately on September 21, 1998 was the saddest time for Flo-Jo big fans. She had to sleep forever on her 38. Her death was unexpected. Then the investigation by the doctor team announced that she died because she suffered from suffocation during a severe epileptic seizure. The other investigation also told that she had a cavernous angioma, a brain disorder. Many fans feel a big lost of Florence Griffith-Joyner. Although she could not run fast in the track field anymore, her big name still remained in the hearts of her faith fans. Flo-Jo is the fastest lady on earth.
